NB: Closed Oct 2002 and June 2003 - hopefully not for good.  We are told by a usually well-informed source, that, if the Athens restaurant is going particularly well, the owner will leave the opening of the Naxos one until later in the season.  It's place has now been taken by a new Mexican that we haven't yet tried.

CLASSICO

ALAS - NO MORE

A fine, Italian restaurant located above Vegerra at the South end of the Paralia.  You can expect to spend about one and a half times more than other places but the food is very different with interesting combinations and ingredients.  It also has a good wine list.  The balcony gives great views over the harbour but, if there's a wind, it can be chilly.  Also, later in the evening, it can be annoyingly noisy with the music from several bars clashing.
