As anyone giving this site just a cursory glance will have realised, this is our favourite place. Not just Naxos, just about anywhere. We are not doing a hard sell as we have no connection with the owners - although it has often been remarked that we must have shares in it, so many hours have we spent there over the years. It is family run by the Katsoulis, mother Eleni, her sons Manolis and Georgios with their respective wives. On the town beach, it is the last but one taverna, just before Flivos. They serve a variety of the normal taverna food all day - we used to particularly like their spaghetti Bolognese.* They have the usual drinks and can make cocktails. However, what is highly recommended is to while the afternoon away drinking ice-cold Retsina (Particularly: several of the half kilo, fliptop bottles - usually Kourtaki) until the wonderful sunsets. It is, some years, a club in the evening. Mrs Katoulis has always loved animals and there have been, usually, a variety of puppies and kittens here. However, these have not been so plentiful over the last few years as she has had grandchildren to delight her. The family also run Fikas Hotel.
