IRINI'S
Excellent patsariasalata - made with walnuts, mayonnaise and garlic. Good gigantes. The kalamares, the night we went, were OK but cold. Grilled mackerel good. Both the house white and red very drinkable. Varied menu including "piglet in the oven". One waiter does tend to be a bit unfriendly but Irini, herself, is always smiley and welcoming. AC.
VASSILI's
See our comments on Vassili's separate page. Although among our favourites, Giorgos has stayed, over the years, with the things he does well, so we can only visit a couple of times a year having run through his repertory several times. However, there is still enough to warrant several visits per holiday (see note). AC.
A smart, new bar along the front. Really only for the young as they have extremely loud, house music. Their espresso is the strongest I've had since one morning on the railway station at Sorrento - served with a small bottle of mineral water. Apart from the noise, recommended. Excellentl situated though small balcony. AC.
AMORE MEO (Plaka)
Boring mixed salads but very good pizzas - try the rocket and mushroom. The house wine teeters on the edge of drinkable and not, although it must fall on the side of the former as we had 1 and 1/2 kilos. One day we were there the waiter was very friendly until we showed no interest whatsoever in football when we suddenly became very infra dig. AC.
